Denise Donati, RN RM
Founder, Registered Nurse & Midwife
Some people talk about patient-centred care. Denise has spent over 40 years building clinics around it. From fertility nursing in Tasmania to founding two IVF clinics on the Sunshine Coast, and now leading IV Health Sunshine Coast, her career has been shaped by one consistent belief: that good clinical care starts with genuinely listening to the person in front of you.
A Career Built on Clinical Care
At IV Health Sunshine Coast, every treatment is delivered or supervised by a registered clinician. This is not a franchise model or a self-service drip bar. Our team includes registered nurses with postgraduate qualifications in integrative medicine, reproductive medicine, and pain management, supported by a dedicated administration team that keeps your experience smooth and well-coordinated.
What sets this team apart is the combination of clinical depth and genuine care. The clinic was founded by a registered nurse and midwife whose vision was to create a space where people feel heard, informed, and supported, not rushed through a treatment list. That ethos runs through every team member.
Founding Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast
In 2007, Denise co-founded Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast, a full-service fertility clinic based in Buderim. The clinic grew from a small team of five to a multi-site operation spanning the Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg, employing 20 staff across both locations.
Under Denise’s leadership as Co-Owner and Director, Fertility Solutions operated under the Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC) Code of Practice and all relevant national regulations. The clinic was recognised with the Professional Services Small Business Award in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
In 2012, Denise launched Affordable IVF on the Sunshine Coast, a streamlined, lower-cost fertility treatment model designed to make IVF more accessible to families. The service expanded to Bundaberg in 2014.
International Consulting and Education
Between 2007 and 2008, Denise was recruited as a consultant to travel to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where she assessed the nursing practices of both public and private IVF clinics. Her recommendations were adopted by local clinics and contributed to the Ministry of Health establishing an IVF education component in the Vietnamese nurse training curriculum.
Denise has presented extensively at conferences in Australia, the United Kingdom, and South East Asia on topics including:
- The role of the Australian fertility nurse specialist
- How fertility nurses can extend their scope of practice
- Lifestyle and fertility
- Controlled ovarian stimulation and IUI
- Managing patient expectations
She has also served on the Executive Committee of the Fertility Nurses of Australasia and was part of the inaugural project planning team for the Serono Symposia International Australian Fertility Nurse Education Program in 2003.
Founding IV Health Sunshine Coast
IV Health Sunshine Coast was established in 2023, drawing on everything Denise had learned across four decades of clinical work. Her goal was to create a clinic where integrative health services, particularly IV vitamin and mineral therapy, could be delivered with the same clinical rigour and personalised attention she brought to fertility care.
The clinic operates from Sippy Downs and is staffed by a team of registered nurses with backgrounds in reproductive medicine, pain management, and holistic care. Denise oversees the clinical standards, service development, and care philosophy that guide every treatment at IV Health Sunshine Coast.
Her current focus is on bridging conventional clinical practice with integrative health. Denise holds a Master of Nursing and is currently completing a Master of Integrative Medicine, reflecting her belief that the two disciplines are stronger together.
Clinical Philosophy
Denise’s approach to care is grounded in three principles:
- Listen first: Every client is different. Understanding their health history, goals, and concerns is the starting point for any treatment.
- Evidence-informed practice: All treatments and recommendations are grounded in clinical evidence and delivered within a regulated framework.
- Whole-person care: Health is not just the absence of illness. Denise’s interest in integrative medicine reflects a commitment to supporting overall wellbeing, not just treating symptoms.
