IV Health

Personalised Nutrient IV Infusion

The Personalised Nutrient IV Infusion at IV Health Sunshine Coast is a personalised infusion of fluids and nutrients, with comprehensive screening before every session. It is not a treatment for stress or any other health condition. If stress is affecting your daily life, please speak with your healthcare provider.

About This Infusion

Although this infusion appears on our menu, the formulation itself is tailored to you at your consultation. It delivers sterile fluids, with vitamins and nutrients where these are clinically appropriate and included in your script, directly into your bloodstream through an IV drip. Its role is to provide fluids and nutrients in a formulation personalised to you. It is not a treatment for stress, anxiety, low mood, sleep problems or any other health condition, and we do not claim that it changes how you feel.

When to Speak With Your Healthcare Provider About Stress

Feeling stressed is common, and it can have many different causes, from work and family pressures to sleep, health changes or other conditions worth identifying. If stress, worry or low mood is ongoing, affecting your daily life, or new for you, please speak with your healthcare provider so the cause can be understood and the right support put in place.

An IV infusion is not a substitute for medical care or mental health support. If you are in crisis or worried about your safety, call 000 in an emergency or Lifeline on 13 11 14, available 24 hours a day.

Things worth raising with your healthcare provider include:

  • Stress, worry or low mood that has lasted for more than a couple of weeks
  • Changes in sleep, appetite or energy that you cannot explain
  • Any medicines or supplements you take, including for mood or sleep
  • Health conditions that may need assessment before any IV treatment
Screening and Consultation

Screening and Consultation Come First

Comprehensive screening sits behind every session at IV Health Sunshine Coast. Before any infusion, a nurse reviews your health history, current medications and wellbeing goals. A medical practitioner with a special interest in integrative care then confirms whether treatment is clinically appropriate for you and, where suitable, issues a personalised prescription. For safety, every infusion is administered by a registered nurse.

Baseline blood tests are not mandatory for everyone, though they are often recommended, and your suitability is discussed at your nurse consultation and confirmed by the practitioner before a script is issued. You can take our pre-treatment blood test list to your healthcare provider if testing is suggested. No referral is required for this infusion.

A complimentary discovery call with a nurse via telehealth is available to help you decide whether this is a good fit for you. The call is free, there is no obligation to proceed, and it does not include scripting or treatment.

How Your Visit Works

Your first visit runs around 60 to 90 minutes because it includes your consultation and scripting. You can read more on our Our Process page.

Your nurse reviews your health history, medications and wellbeing goals, and talks through what has been going on for you. If anything suggests you would be better supported by your healthcare provider first, your nurse tells you so.

A medical practitioner with a special interest in integrative care confirms whether treatment is clinically appropriate for you and, where suitable, issues a personalised vitamin and nutrient prescription. Your script is valid for 12 months. If your health, your medicines or how you are feeling changes, your nurse and practitioner review your health again before any further infusion.

A registered nurse administers your infusion in a monitored setting, using single-use consumables every session. An infusion usually runs for around 30 to 60 minutes, and your nurse checks in with you throughout.

Because individual needs and responses vary, there is no set schedule. Any further session is only considered in consultation with your practitioner, where it is clinically appropriate.

Safety, Risks and Aftercare

Every infusion is administered by a registered nurse in a monitored environment. Our team brings many years of combined experience in nursing, midwifery and integrative medicine, and careful screening and prescribing sit at the centre of how we work.

As with any IV treatment, there are risks. Some people notice minor discomfort, bruising or redness at the cannula site. Less commonly, IV treatment can cause vein irritation, infection at the cannula site or a reaction to an ingredient in your formulation, and it is not suitable for everyone, including some people with heart or kidney conditions or who take certain medicines. Your nurse talks you through the risks before your session.

After your session, your nurse talks you through some simple aftercare. Keep hydrating through the day, aiming for 1 to 2 litres of water unless your nurse or healthcare provider has advised otherwise, eat whole, nutrient-dense meals, and rest if you need to. Keep to gentle movement and avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting with your infusion arm for 24 hours, minimise alcohol, and reduce caffeine for the rest of the day. Your nurse also provides aftercare specific to the formulation you receive.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. We do not claim that this infusion reduces stress or changes how you feel, and it is not a treatment for stress, anxiety or any mental health condition. If stress is affecting your daily life, please speak with your healthcare provider, who can help you understand the cause and find the right support.

Your formulation is personalised to you. It is based on sterile fluids, with vitamins and nutrients added only where they are clinically appropriate and included in your script. Your nurse and practitioner talk you through exactly what is in your infusion at your consultation.

No referral is required. Like all our infusions, it is practitioner-scripted, which means a nurse and a medical practitioner with a special interest in integrative care will review your health and confirm whether treatment is appropriate before your session.

IV treatment is not suitable for everyone. Some heart or kidney conditions, certain medicines and allergies may mean it is not appropriate for you, which is why your nurse reviews your health history and medications first. If a nurse or one of our healthcare practitioners does not think IV nutrient therapies are suitable for you, they will let you know and recommend that you speak with your healthcare provider.

An infusion usually runs for around 30 to 60 minutes. Your first visit takes a little longer, around 60 to 90 minutes in total, because it includes your nurse consultation and practitioner scripting.

Because your infusion is personalised, the cost depends on your formulation. The best first step is a free discovery call with a nurse, who can talk you through whether this is the right option for you. Call us on 07 5406 0689 to arrange your call.

Yes, as with any IV treatment. Minor discomfort, bruising or redness at the cannula site can occur. Less commonly, IV treatment can cause vein irritation, infection at the cannula site or a reaction to an ingredient in your formulation. This is why comprehensive screening comes before every session, and your nurse talks you through the risks, what to expect and your aftercare.
